This was our first cruise on the Princess line. I don’t think we’ll ever take a Carnival cruise again. The Princess ship was more subtly decorated (meaning not garish) and except for one night, dinner was free of tacky announcements and singing.
Ship tour
One of the first things on the schedule was a tour to acquaint yourself with the ship. We often don’t get organized enough to do something like that, but I’m really glad I did and got to get acclimated to where everything was.
- Food sculpture
- Plates in the galley
- More food art
- Galley prep
- Megan looking at a cookbook
- Wish we had this much room for the RG
- Another galley shot
- Food waiting to be served
- Signs in the galley
- I sent this pool sign picture to the kids
People
The best part of a cruise is the people–but I didn’t take that many pictures at dinner this time.
- Stan and I dressed for formal night
- Pat & John celebrating their anniversary
- Jackie
- Another of Stan & me
- Stan with alcohol–who would have thought?
Our cabin
The cabin was really nice–especially the closet space.
- Home for the week
- A view of our bed and desk area
- I ordered flowers for us and enjoyed the scent all week!
- Having a balcony was wonderful
- And here’s Stan enjoying the balcony!
- The closet had plenty of hanging space–and shelving
- We had a safe for valuables
- Tiny but functional toilet and shower
- The bathroom actually had shelves!
Looking ahead
One cruise is never enough, so we’re already thinking about the next one and have already put a deposit on our next one. My initial thought was a Holy Land cruise, but as I write this (April 2013) Egypt and Israel are not the safest places for Americans, so we’re now thinking about the British Isles.
